A Typical Day

After my last post I decided to do as Judy of Patchwork Times recommends and blog EVERYTHING in one day......  It will be a challenge to see if I can get to the computer that often.......

It is now 8:01 and I have already I have folded one load of laundry and put another load in..........  Finished loading the dishwasher and pushed its buttons...  Things seem to be Humming Along nicely here so far......I have also cut a few flowers from the front yard for a wee arrangement.......

It is a small round table beside Lem's chair..........  The table was made by my grandfather and has an inlay in the center of satinwood and ebony........  It as a reproduction of a candle stand and does open with a space to put a candle..............

Now off to prep the vegetables for dinner tonight.......

Well that is done......  All safely in the fridge till tonight when I will roast them..........  I looked it up on the internet so this will be an experiment for me.  There is some BBQ pork roast in the freezer that I will get out to warm up to go with the meal......

I need to use the ham bone from the ham I baked so decided to cook some Pinto Beans......  The bone is simmering and I put the beans in a pot of water, brought it to a boil and then turned it off.  In an hour they will be ready to add to the ham........

Might as well make some jello while I am at it......  I would make some pudding but not enough milk for that.

Jello with fruit cocktail to go with lunch........  Wash up a few dishes I used

One load in the dryer and the last load of wash in the washer..........

Now time to dress and head outside till lunch time...........

Well, I got some yard work done at last...........

The golf cart is loaded with all of the gardening things......  It makes it so easy to go from place to place and carries all I need..........  Wade and I also like to ride around the area most days just to get out a bit.

The Phlox planted on the berm by the lake........  I am hoping that it will take hold and spread.....  That seems so much easier to maintain than anything else I can think of........

Mulch spread around the Fig Tree........  and rocks placed around the mulch and around the plants on the berm.

The hydrangea we moved from Perry Park is starting to come out.  I am hoping it will do well so that we can share it with all the family members...............

I am not sure exactly what these flowers are.......  They were also growing at Perry Park.......  Maybe they will be ready to divide and share later.................

The lavendar will have to wait till we purchase more mulch in order to be planted.......  It seems to be looking healthy still...........

I even dug a bit around one of the Carolina Jasmines on the pergola..................

Inside to fix lunch..........  Baked chicken sandwiches with tomato and lettuce, potato salad and some of the jelllo I made earlier.

And then a wee toes up........  I simply adore naps and I take one when ever possible.

Up again...................  Beans done and the ham cut off the bone and added back into them.....  They will be supper tomorrow night with cornbread and kielbasa and collards.......  They are cooling now to be placed in the outside refrigerator for the morrow.......

Chicken and BBQ Pork put out to thaw...........  I need to bake chicken for us and for Wade.......  Maybe baked chicken tomorrow and the beans the day after.....  We shall see....  Wade Hamilton likes chicken breast and he is such a small dog that it is less expensive to bake it for him than it is to deal with dog food.  I usually bake the large package......  We have it for supper on the night I bake it, some is put in a container for him and some us used for chicken salad or just sliced for sandwiches for lunch......

More dishes washed up and the dishwasher emptied......  Now to finish folding the laundry.....

Laundry folded and put away, clean sheets put on the bed in the guest room....  Back outside to see just what trouble I can get into.

I found three pin oaks volunteering in a flower bed last year and saved them.  They still had the acorns attached. They are now planted in our yard.........  It will be interesting to see if I can keep them alive....  Time will tell.

Back inside to prepare dinner

Just drain the veggies and place them in the oven.  Warm the BBQ and bake the corn sticks...  This is where I failed........  Completely forgot to take pictures......

Anyhow........  That is how one day goes.  Now off to see what I can do with this one...  I am getting a later start but that happens sometimes..........

  2. WOW!! You had a full, busy day! I love all the flowers and wish we could be planting but it's still too early, cold and wet! Soon, very soon. I don't have a golf cart but I do have a wheeler that I pull my wagon with. Pretty fun!
I did ham and beans last week. Sooo good and I love having lunches in the freezer. :)
