A Finish or Two
Wade is wearing his Valentine shirt. The matching leash will be finished shortly.... We are walking at two o'clock and he wants to look spiffy....
Eamon's sweater is complete and ready to mail..... Today I will finish Xaviers sweater and perhaps mail both of them on Tuesday... Time will tell...
I have discovered Fabric Café and their three yard quilts...
I cut and marked one yesterday with a stop watch... It took 33 minutes to press and cut the fabric...
I marked the HST in 29 minutes.... Today will tell the time on the rest of the quilt...……

Two Finishes in One Week...
The sweater is such a lovely red and this picture does not show how rich it is.....
Perhaps I can get these sweaters in the mail before she outgrows them...

One Small Bite of the Elephant
At last the holidays are behind us and I can sew again. Started by cutting out three blocks for MaryLynn … Each guild member makes a block for the outgoing president. She selects the pattern and we make the blocks... I should have finished them months ago, at least they are now cut out.
One of this years projects is the shawl I am making for my sister..... I got the yarn at Dances With Wool the last time I went to Richmond.... I now have 142 stitches. I need to knit to 200 stitches and the increase is one stitch at the end of every other row... Still a few stitches to go...
Close up still doesn't show the pattern.... Blocking makes all the difference...
Trying to find a quilt for the BOM at the guild. Came across Mystery Quilts Anonymous on Facebook... This looked and since I might actually finish something this year I thought I would start something else that just looked quick and easy...LOL...

Done and Begun
Class mates from high school... We have lunch together every week. They came to my house before Christmas... ( I am bottom right)
One finish for the start of the year.. Now to get them packaged and in the mail.
One begun. I ordered a set of the Addi Flex Needles and of course I needed to try them... If you are a sock knitter you might enjoy them... I really like them and now will have to collect a few more sizes.

String a Long...
Lori at Humble Quilts is offering a string quilt challenge in 2019...
The question is just how long can I actually follow through on this project...
Time will tell.
This is the quilt I found on Pinterist… Looks like it will be a fun project. I mean really, just how hard could it be?
I decided on six inch blocks.. The blocks will be Six inch blocks = twelve a month = three a week... Months with five weeks allows for a catch up week...
The finished quilt will be 60x72. Borders could be added... Time will tell...

Tis the Holiday Season
Received a copy of "The Big Book of Table Toppers".
Cut one out for a Guild demonstration.... Actually have it assembled but it is on the Missing in Action list at this time..... Might show up in the coming new year.
Up early for sunrise one morning...….. Gray cloudy days this time of year...
Finished a pair of socks for a friend...
Decorated the table for Autumn...
At last began the PINCUSHION COUNTDOWN. I like to make a pincushion for each member of the Guild to give at our Christmas party...
This year I decided to make the Buckshot Pincushion...
I did start early and had the pieces all sewn together.
Now to fill them with walnut shells and assemble.
The first two complete...
More in stages of completion.
As of yesterday I stuffed all but the last eight... Now to finish the assembly...

Fast Foward from Florence
Recovery from Florence continues. I had no damage or flooding but family and friends were hard hit. One friend lost a roof and another friend lost EVERYTHING, House, cars, and all her treasures.
I was trying to get a picture of the lost seagull flying around. I am about 70 miles from the coast but I still had two seagulls trying to fly into the wind..
Friends and family took shelter here due to flooding in some cases and no power for others.
Heartfelt thanks to the Cajun Navy that rescued my friend and her husband during the worst of the storm...….
Thank you to all lineman and rescue workers from all over America that came to NC to assist those in need..
Completed binding off the last stitch of the shawl this morning. Now to run the threads and block... Hope it will be ready to take to Richmond in a few weeks...
You really can't see the beads in this picture but each diamond is edged in silver lined beads....
Next on the agenda is to finish the dresses for the wedding. The wedding was to be the day of Florence... The venue lost its roof so the wedding is being rescheduled...
Wouldn't it be grand for me to get off the computer and finish them?

Promised to make three dresses for a wedding... Hope to get those finished this weekend...

Ready - Set - Go
Planning for sewing in March.......................
Block of the Quarter all cut out and ready to stitch.....
Tea towel and soup bowl cozy ready for stitching...
Friendship Garden Mystery Quilt by Kathleen Tracy first block prepped and ready to start...
Guild Mystery quilt cut out and ready to go...
I liked the guild block of the quarter so much that I picked out fabric to make the whole quilt.
Thought joining The Handmade Sock Society on Ravelery looked interesting and this is the beginning of the first pair..... Bought yarn to make two pairs......
Some have deadlines and some are just for fun. Hopefully I can stay on track and work only on these till they are finished..........
