Out of the Closet

I have been ignoring this closet for six years...........  I have run out of excuses so I suppose the time has come...........

In fact the time has come to tackle all of the closets.........  Maybe if I did a shelf or two a week I could finish by the end of the year...........

The shelf with the toppling plastic containers is on the plan for today.......  We will see how it goes......

Six years of procrastination and one hour and 15 minutes of effort.........  Can I keep it this way?  That is the question.

Wade Hamilton follows me wherever I go...........  He prefers to rest in the doorway to make sure he can keep up with my location............

Knitted angel tree..........  Hope to make more for next year and use them on the tree.

This display went with modern colors..........

Buffet in the foyer..

Carolers under the television..........

The last edition to this year's decorations........

A Few More Finishes

I found a few more ideas online for babies........  This bandana bib is a good one for teething babies because they absorb moisture.......  The pattern calls for terry cloth or flannel backing but having neither of those items I used two pieces of matching fabric and lightweight batting between......  Add a snap to the back and this gift is finished quickly........

I made two of them in bright fabric..........

and two in blue on white.....  the blue seemed to fade away in the picture.

I also discovered a pacifier holder online.......  Two are made with grosgrain ribbon and two are from fabric...........

Finished a knitted bib to add to the box and this will be a nice surprise........

Having promised Jason and Kim bowl cozies I took the time to get them done......

Someone at lunch bunch had a purchased phone case.........  Two other friends wanted one....  Now they will also have smiles this week.....

In the evenings I have been knitting angels for my tree.......  So far one is assembled.  Three more are waiting for assembly..........  Hope to finish a dozen before Christmas.........

Done and Begun

County block finished for the State Quilt....  I have given it to someone else to quilt and mail....  Marked that off my list.....

Next up was the Block of the Quarter for the guild.....  The guild provided the background for four blocks.  That was allowing for error in cutting....  I selected to make 16 blocks but I actually got 21 blocks total from the fabric.

All cut out and ready to sew.............

While I was cutting I cut a few extras for me just in case I want to add to them and make my own quilt.....

Studio Time

Finished Wade Hamilton's new fall outfit..........  He is going for a spa day on Monday so I am waiting to let him wear it.........

I was asked to make a block to represent our county on a State Quilt......  I chose to use the emblem on our name tags.

Of course I had to enlarge it a bit....  Now it is all prepped and ready to stitch...........

Let's don't forget that the exchange blocks are due on November 1st.....  I have eight ready to sew but I will need to make a few more.......  The hardest part is selecting the fabric......

Kate found this at Hobby Lobby when we were in Georgia..........  Of course I said I would stitch it for her.........

I have begun....  I use it as a quick pick up project when my mind is tired.........

Spent most of the week cooking and baking........  Hopefully I can spend next week stitching...

Quilts by Cheri

On Mondays Cheri Payne is offering a quilt a long for Halloween.  It can be found on Quilts by Cheri Friendship Group. HERE

I am a we bit behind but catching up fast.

This is block one......  I need to embroider the face and add button eyes.

Still stitching block two.......
I forgot the star in the center of the bowl so that has to be added......
I also think the berries are the wrong color and I plan to change them to something else...

Block three was posted last Monday and this Monday will be block four.  I should be able to finish two blocks in one week if all goes well......

Cheri has many free quilt patterns on her Friendship Facebook Page under files on the left side...  If you like primitive she the best........

The Joy of a Finish

Clearing a bit from the studio I chose to bind three quilts that were ready to be finished.

The Rainbow Quilt is now on the way to Georgia to live with my granddaughter.

This quilt is mine.......  I made one for myself but Kim liked it so much that I gave it to her.....

Still kept looking at that pattern and knew that another one was going to be made.....

Here it is all bound and ready to sleep under........  I plan to KEEP this one........

This quilt was made at least 10 years ago.......  At long last it is no longer a flimsy.  I had quilted the center but for some unknown reason I never quilted the border...........  Now the quilting has been finished and it is bound..........  I cannot give this one away because the quilting is so bad...   After all it was made just for practice.............

Picked up the baby sweater in the evenings and knit a few rows........  Kate needed a shower gift so I finished it and it is on the way to her now...

Added a couple of bibs to go with the sweater.....

Found fabric that was purchased for a few new outfits for Wade.........  Cut them out and got them ready to sew..........  Out of D-rings for the harness so they will be on hold till I get to Greenville again...
