Little Progress

I took two extra blocks and made a small pincushion to put in this small box from Temecula Quilt Co.

Her husband makes them and they are so sweet........  This holds the tools needed for my applique so they are not all over the table.

Fleming came over on Saturday and mowed our lawn...  It was cold so she was all wrapped up.

Did not have enough brown hexagons ready to finish that row so I started the next row......  This is going to take a LONG TIME.....

Two more pieces to stitch on the applique and this will be ready to layer...........

Busy day yesterday....  Took Lemuel out and that is always a chore.......  We were in bed by 9:30 we were so tired.......

Eleven More Pieces...

and Aprils wee quilt will be ready to layer and quilt.........  I might start the one for May before the end of April...... Amazing.........

This Week

Finished the car seat blanket for an upcoming baby shower......  Two more things to make and that gift will be ready to wrap......

Lemuel has gotten a scooter to help him get out and about....  We went for a walk yesterday and stopped to see Marilyn......

All week I have been working on "My ScrapBasketSampler" .  Lori at Humble Quilts mentioned it early in March.  I found the quilt a long Here...

Maybe next week I can get caught up on the Circa 2016 quilt along  at Temecula Quilts......

A FINISH........

Just a Stitch or Two

Selected fabrics and bought a frame at Happy's.........

 

Ducks have been busy and I already have one egg........ 
Don't expect much from it since it is just sitting there and no one is minding it.....

Covered a can cozie with a string block....  It was getting rather worn and needed a pick me up.

This is the other side...........

Jason took Lemuel out to  learn to use the new electric wheel chair.......  Sad to say that it did not work for him.....  His motor skills are not up to the task anymore.

Sewed eight of ten leaves on my March applique from Keepsake Quilts.......   Now adding the next pieces.......

Sat on the porch with Lem for an hour this morning and enjoyed spring.........  Cast on another baby sweater....... 

House blessing, laundry, meals......  Not sure where the day went.........  Now to rest for tomorrow.

Design Wall Monday

Temecula Quilt Company is hosting a Quilt Along........  I started late but can report now that I am up to date...... 

I have several other projects that need to be completed but this weekend I decided to play with something for myself.........

Still using the scraps I bought from Homestead Hearth ten years ago..........

Lori at Humble Quilts mentioned a Quilt Along sponsored by Quilts by Cheri.......  I decided to start that one also.......  Only five blocks behind on that one so maybe I can be up to date before the next installment.............

Little and Often

Finished the pinwheel blocks.........

A dozen nine patches were next.......

Now they are done.......  Seems like a lot of effort for only a sixteen inch square.....  I am waiting for the setting fabric to arrive so that I can finish that portion of the center medallion......

Now on to the hourglass blocks.....Twenty eight of them.

Selected the fabric but now I will need to press it and get it cut..........  These steps take time.....

Maybe I can get this step completed soon...........

Progress

Angie came yesterday......  She is helping me get some organization in a few areas....

Yesterday was the studio.....  She re-arranged and organized what was in there.....  Other than craft projects there are several other major projects to be accomplished......

It looks better already.......

At least I don't cringe when I go in the door....

I pulled some strips from my 2 1/2 inch drawer.........

Jean gave me this wonderful ruler made by creative grids.....  They are my all time favorite rulers.
You can place the tip of the ruler on a strip of fabric and cut with a rotary cutter......

I have a whole stack of strips ready to become hexagons.........  Maybe even squares...... 

The second ruler shown is a scrapmaster.  You can read more about it HERE....  I want to begin using some of the odd pieces I have.  As they say "Little and often completes a project"...

The Easter Bunny stopped by with a surprise for Lem and I..........

Look at all the wonderful items that were in that basket.....  Just what we needed.........

Temecula Quilt Company has started a quilt along......  She post new instructions every Friday.  I am late to this party but we shall see just how long it will take to catch up..........

Today is an appointment for Rebekah.  Tomorrow Lem goes to the physical therapist to see about a wheel chair........  His right leg is not working well now and that will help him get around...........

Not much sewing time left this week.........  We can see just what I can work in..............

Design Wall Monday

I am finally getting to sew a wee bit..........  Found this charm pattern on Pinterest.....

It was so easy to assemble.  Can't believe it took me so long to get it together.....

Ordered the backing from Thousands of Bolts.......  Hope to get this finished by the end of April........

A Few More Things

This is three of four quilts that were bound last week..............

And this is the last one completed..........

I also finished the February BOM from Keepsake Quilts and designed by Lori Smith....

Scarf using yarn I purchased on the Knitting Bus last year is complete......  Perfect to go with the coat I bought several years ago but rarely wear because it is scratchy on my neck.......  This solves that problem.  Now to lose five pounds so that I can button the coat......

Purchased this arrangement at Happy's.....  It only had the roses in it and Donna added a few more flowers to fill in the gaps........  Thinking of a change so keep tuned for the outcome.... 

Found this plate at Happy's....  The holder is a bit bright for my taste so I plan to tone it down a wee bit with some burnt umber paint....

I placed an order with Temecula Quilt Company.....  More on that later.......  On their website there was a small quilt with hanger......  I ordered the hanger and started the quilt.......  Yes, this was yet another diversion from THE LIST but it was refreshing......  All ready to layer, quilt and bind.....  The instructions can be found HERE...

Another wee one is expected in my circle of friends......  Never having managed to make my gifts ahead as I had planed I am forced to stop and work in a sweater, hat and blankets.....

I also managed to hem six pairs of pants for me and five for Rebekah.....  This week will be catching up on the house blessing....  Maybe next week I can sew again.

A Few Finishes

Last week my friend Jean came for a week.........  It is wonderful to have someone to talk quilting with.

Before her arrival I got 4 quilts ready for binding.........

And finished a pair of socks to keep her tootsies warm.....

I began the assembly of the February BOM from Keepsake Quilts.......  A little slow this month on the finish.

It is a Lori Smith design.......  She is an all time favorite designer of mine......

First quilt finished was a gift for a dear friend.......  Designed by Judy Laquaidara and made years ago during her Hour a Day period.........

Finished a tablecloth and found a plant starting to bloom with the exact color flowers in it....  A cream with a touch of pink....

Finished quilt two........  This was a Quilt A Long with Crazy Mom Quilts......  This top was also made years ago..........

Found this sweet bunny at Happy's........  Just perfect.................

A Few Finishes......

These few completed projects might not look like much but I have so little time now to do much in the way of stitchery.........

Moving the sewing machine closer to Lemuel did help but I still find little time to do much sewing.

Georgina's quilt is finished and delivered........

Susan's baby quilt is quilted and ready but she hasn't gotten here for it yet......  We transferred our Tuesday gathering to Marilyn,s for January and starting next week she and I will take turns....  Lem gets overtired with too much going on but he misses seeing everyone so this is our compromise.

Donna bought new dishes for her Easter table and needed napkins.....  We found the fabric upstairs and here they are already begun.....

And done.......

Now lets see what I can finish next..........
